Need newspapers for your research?
Not to be confused with the trips to the British Library at Boston Spa, the library is organising a minibus trip to Colindale, north London, where the national archive of newspapers is held. The minibus is leaving the University Library at 08.00hrs to arrive at Colindale at approximately 10.30hrs. You will leave Colindale at 16.00hrs to arrive back in Lincoln at around 18.30hrs.
To book a place on this trip just go to the library desk and register. Upon registration a £5 fee is payable.
Upon arrival at Colindale you will need to bring two forms of identification, one as proof of identity showing signature (e.g. passport, credit card, driving licence) and one as proof of current address (e.g. recent utility bill, recent Bank Statement, Driving Licence with address etc) or alternatively a current British Library Pass. Please note, strictly no admittance to the Library will be permitted without proof of ID/address.
For further details about this unique trip, please contact me: Daren Mansfield (Academic Subject Librarian, Journalism & CERD) at dmansfield@lincoln.ac.uk.

Over the summer, a group of students worked with us to develop and produce self-guided audio tours of the GCW University Library (Brayford Pool campus), as part of the University’s 2007 Fund for Educational Development projects.
You can listen to the four audio tours (one for each floor of the building), download the entire tour to your mp3 player, or even borrow an mp3 player (+headphones) with the tours ready-loaded, from the library desk on the ground floor.
