Old photos of the GCW

We’ve been given a CD-ROM of old photos of the GCW University Library building at Brayford Pool campus in Lincoln, dating from 1980 onwards (when it was still a goods warehouse), and including photographs of the building’s transformation from a semi-derelict condition in to its current, award-winning renovated state.

The photos have been made publicly available on the picture-sharing website flick, under a Creative Commons licence (Attribution-Non-Commercial-Share Alike). You can view the complete photoset by clicking on any of the thumbnail images above.

We’ll be adding some more photos in a month’s time.

  1. David says:

Some of these are great shots! Do you know who took them?

  2. The newer ones (showing the renovation work) were taken by Estates & Facilities, I think…

If we get any really old historical shots, and assuming we can get the permission, we’ll put them in this flickr set, too.
