We’ve improved the way the University Portal links to the 17 databases on the EBSCO search platform, including the new upgraded Business Source Complete.
Previously, every time you logged in to EBSCO, you first had to select “EBSCOhost” from a list of ‘services’, then select the name of the database you wanted to search – several unnecessary additional clicks before you could start searching for journal articles.
Now, each database’s page on the Portal links directly to the search screen for that individual database, via the Athens login process.
E.g. for the CINAHL database:
- Step 1: from the Portal at: https://portal.lincoln.ac.uk/C9/C1/CINAHL/

- Step 2: click through the Athens login process:

- Step 3: you’ll be taken direct to the EBSCO search screen for the CINAHL database.

(CINAHL is the authoritative resource for nursing and allied health professionals, students, educators and researchers.)
Or, if you prefer, you can still cross-search all 17 EBSCO databases - by logging in via the main EBSCOhost databases page on the University Portal - or by clicking on the “choose databases” link above any EBSCO search box.
The EBSCOhost databases platform allows you to search 17 electronic databases at once or individually, including two of the most popular databases in the University (Academic Search Elite / Business Source Complete), plus specialist resources for business, computing, education, health, the humanities, performing arts, social sciences, sports science and psychology.
