Totem! New library self-service coming soon

Another exclusive preview of  some of the changes we’re making in our libraries over the course of this year: we’ll soon be replacing our existing self-issue and return machines with new “Totem” library self-service kiosks.

The new machines are being provided by local company 2CQR. They’ll be available across all campuses of the University (currently, self-service is only possible in the GCW and Hull Campus libraries), and will feature:

  • RFID (radio frequency identification) tagging for fast and accurate self-service;
  • Issue, return and renewal of books and other library materials;
  • Touchscreen displays – intuitive and easy to use;
  • Access to your library account details (protected by PIN);
  • Full on-screen help.
