The login button on the e-journals A-to-Z is taking a long time to actually log users in today, or else is ‘freezing’ completely.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused – we’ve reported the problem to EBSCO (who provide the A-to-Z service) and we’ll let you know as soon as it’s fixed.
In the meantime, you can still use the A-to-Z to search for the journal you need, even without logging in.
Once you’ve linked out to a journal’s website, you should then be able to log in to that individual site and access the full text of any articles.
Please contact your Academic Subject Librarian or email athens@lincoln.ac.uk if you have any problems.

We’ve updated our coverage of 133 journal titles from Wiley InterScience on the e-journals A-to-Z, so it should now be more accurate.
You can see the list of titles here.
Wiley provide online access to some of the most heavily-used e-journals at the University of Lincoln, including:

A number of students and staff have asked for help with the – slightly tricky – process of logging in to a particular journal title within the LexisLibrary legal and news sources package, via the e-journals A-to-Z site.

So, we’ve created a step-by-step help guide which explains the process, with screenshots of each step. There’s a link to the help guide next to each LexisLibrary title on the A-to-Z.
LexisLibrary is a…
…legal and news/current affairs database providing access to a range of case law, legislation, commentary, current awareness, and newspaper services. Includes the full text of volumes 1-50 of Halsbury’s Laws of England (an authoritative narrative covering every aspect of English statute and case law), up-to-date legislation containing over 18,000 full text acts, and the All England Law Reports. LexisLibrary also provides access via a “News” tab to full-text newspaper articles from national, local and regional UK newspapers.
(We’ve also created a similar guide for accessing ScienceDirect journals from off-campus, which can be similarly troublesome.)
Q: which other e-journal packages do you find tricky to access?
Let us know, and we’ll try and demystify the process!
Also… don’t forget to fill in our survey…

The problem we were having with error messages on the Electronic Journals A-to-Z has now been resolved, and access to the site is working fine. You can log in to the e-journals via the University Portal.
Some facts & figures about the A-to-Z:
- The A-to-Z now lists more than 43,000 unique e-journal titles.
- Most of the journals listed are paid for by the Library, but 1 in 8 ‘hits’ is to a free or open-access journal.
- The most-used e-journal, the British Journal of Social Work, alone accounts for 1 in 20 e-journal ‘hits’ at the University of Lincoln.
- If the University Library or one of the campus LRCs also takes the printed, paper version of an e-journal, then that paper copy is also listed on the A-to-Z so you can compare our print and ‘e’ access.
- The A-to-Z has a new titles page so you can see what e-journals are new to Lincoln.

Just a quick note to let you know that the problems we were having with access to the Electronic Journals A-to-Z have now been fixed, and you should now be able to log in to the e-journals via the University Portal.

The Electronic Journals A-to-Z enables you to easily find and access any of the full-text, online journals available at the University of Lincoln. You can view lists of journals organised alphabetically and by subject, and you can search for a journal by title keyword. You can also use the A-to-Z to find out if a particular title is available in paper form in the University Library or LRCs, by clicking on ‘print holdings’.
When accessing titles from certain databases off campus, you may need to click on ‘Athens login’ or similar. This includes titles from IngentaConnect, Literature Online UK, ScienceDirect, SwetsWise, and others.

We are unfortunately still experiencing some odd login problems with our Electronic Journals A-to-Z.
People are getting stuck in a “loop” or are able to see only a blank page on login.
For the time being, please bypass the University Portal and access the A-to-Z directly here:
http://atoz.ebsco.com/Home.asp?ID=1710
We’re working to resolve the problem with our suppliers, and we will let you know as soon as we have it fixed.
