Interruption to library / I.T. services this Sunday (24th)

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

Apologies in advance – there is going to be some unavoidable disruption to certain library services this Sunday, 24th January 2010, as a result of essential maintenance work by University estates / ICT services.

Between 06.30 – 14.30 on Sunday, networked services will be unavailable. This will affect on- and off-campus access to the library catalogue, e-resources via the Portal, and RefWorks.

Our three centres will open as usual at 12.00 noon on Sunday for reading and reference access, however please be aware that PC / Internet access, borrowing & return of books, printing / photocopying, and networked services will not be available until 13.00 (1pm) at the earliest, and potentially not until 14.30.

Our apologies again for any inconveniences caused.

Possible loss of IT provision – Sunday 26th April

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

An urgent message from University of Lincoln ICT services:

Due to on-going work to maintain and enhance business continuity provision, essential back up power testing will be carried out this Sunday morning (26th April).  The tests will be carried out on the AMC Communications room and it is expected this will result in no loss of service. However in case of any remedial work that is required following the tests, power maybe shutdown. As a worse case the shutdown would be from 8 am to 12 noon and will impact on ICT service delivery to the Brayford Campus and remote sites. Both computer and telephone services would be unavailable during this period. ICT will endeavour to minimise any disruption that may occur.

ICT apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.

Riseholme LRC closed Saturday 14th Feb

Monday, February 9th, 2009

The LRC at Riseholme Park Campus will be CLOSED this Saturday, the 14th of February, all day.

Unfortunately, this has nothing to do with Saturday’s being St. Valentine’s Day, but is so that the University can carry out essential maintenance to the heating system in the library building.

Power shutdown affecting computer network access – Sunday 16th November

Saturday, November 15th, 2008

Dear all,

A message from University Estates & Facilities:

No electricity in AMC, Science Building and Harrison House on Sunday 16 November. There also will be no Communications network in the Library, Engine Shed, LPAC and Sparkhouse.

In order to carry out essential maintenance works to the High Voltage sub station it will be necessary to have a power shutdown from 8am for approximately six hours.

The Estates and Facilities Department appologise for any inconvinience this may cause.

This will mean that all computer network facilities in the GCW University Library will unfortunately be unavailable tomorrow, from opening time at 12:00noon until 2:00pm (approximately).

This will mean that there will be no access to your computer account, the Internet & email, library services (issue & return), and SafeCom printing within the GCW, until 2 o’clock. Some networked services at other campuses (Hull, Riseholme) will also be affected.

Library & Learning Resources apologise for this unavoidable disruption to our services.
