Problems with Creative Club login

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

Our apologies that the normal method of access to Creative Club database, via the University Portal, appears not to be working at the moment. We have reported the problem to Creative Club, and we’ll let you know as soon as we get a response.

In the meantime, you should be able to get into Creative Club using this alternative method of access:

  1. Go to: www.creativeclub.co.uk
  2. In the top right-hand corner of the page, click on ‘Shibboleth Login’

  3. In the ‘UK Access Management Federation’ page which appears, select the University of Lincoln from the drop-down list, and hit ‘Select’

  4. If you see an Athens username & password box, click on ‘Alternative login’ then use the search screen to find the University of Lincoln

  5. Follow the orange ‘Go to the University of Lincoln login page »’ link to log in using your network\accountID and password

We hope to be able to reinstate normal login, via the Portal, soon.

Problem with access to JSTOR

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

Our apologies – you may be seeing the following error message when you try and access articles within JSTOR on and off campus:

We’re Sorry

It appears that your institution does not allow you off–campus access due to your status.

JSTOR are aware, and we’re working to resolve the problem.

E-journals A-to-Z – slow logging in

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

The login button on the e-journals A-to-Z is taking a long time to actually log users in today, or else is ‘freezing’ completely.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused – we’ve reported the problem to EBSCO (who provide the A-to-Z service) and we’ll let you know as soon as it’s fixed.

In the meantime, you can still use the A-to-Z to search for the journal you need, even without logging in.

Once you’ve linked out to a journal’s website, you should then be able to log in to that individual site and access the full text of any articles.

Please contact your Academic Subject Librarian or email athens@lincoln.ac.uk if you have any problems.

Update on the problems with our library system

Monday, January 25th, 2010

A message from University of Lincoln ICT services about the ongoing lack of access to the library catalogue and issue/return of books:

An engineer is due on-site this afternoon at which time we will have a better understanding of when the system can be returned to normal service. However, at this time we do not expect the system to be back on line before 6:00 pm this evening at the earliest.

Once again ICT  apologise for the inconvenience to staff and students and we will, of course, keep you updated on progress.

E-books, e-journals and databases can still be accessed via the University Portal while the library catalogue is unavailable.

Library system unavailable

Monday, January 25th, 2010

Unfortunately, the library system is still out of service following yesterday’s maintenance work.  As a result the library catalogue and self-service machines are not in operation.

Essential issues and returns can be processed at the library desk.  We hope that normal service will resume in a few hours time.

Library catalogue: interruption to service

Monday, January 18th, 2010

Our apologies that our library catalogue is currently unavailable.

You may see the following error:

HTTP ERROR: 404 /ipac20/ipac.jsp Not Found

RequestURI=/ipac20/ipac.jsp

The problem has been caused by power interruptions at the Brayford Pool Campus. We are working to resolve the situation and will let you know as soon as access to the catalogue has been restored.

In the meantime, please contact your local centre, where Library & Learning Resources staff will be happy to help you to locate any items in our collections.

Our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.
